Two Stage Unlock

You can re-configure your car to give you one-stage or two-stage unlocking behaviour.

Modes

One-stage unlocking (MK3 and MK4): first press of the unlock button on your remote keyfob unlocks all doors.

Two-stage unlocking (Mk3): first press of the unlock button on your remote keyfob unlocks the driver's door and the boot; second press unlocks the three passenger doors.

Two-stage unlocking (Mk4): first press of the unlock button on your remote keyfob unlocks the driver's door; second press unlocks the three passenger doors and the boot.

Configuration

  1. Unlock the car.
  2. Press the lock & unlock buttons on your remote for around 4 seconds - the indicators should flash to let you know the locking behaviour has changed

Repeat the process to switch to the other setting.
