Three different hands-free phone kits are optionally available for the Focus C-MAX 2003.75 (06/2003-), Mondeo 2001 (10/2000-) and the Focus 2004.75 (07/2004-):

1) Version A: WITH handset holder WITHOUT Bluetooth voice control 2) Version B: WITHOUT handset holder WITH Bluetooth voice control 3) Version C: WITH handset holder and WITH Bluetooth voice control, charging function

Description / identification of the A, B and C versions and the hands-free phone kit

All versions include a hands-free phone kit. This is activated as soon as a connection is made with the cellular phone. Hands-free operation is always via the hands-free microphone in the headliner and voice output is always via the audio speakers. Volume control can be performed both at the audio unit and by means of the steering wheel audio control. In order to prevent feedback, the microphone and speaker of the cellular phone are switched off. Version A

Version A features a connection to the vehicle exterior antenna and a module which only contains the hands-free phone kit and no additional functions.

Identification of the version installed in the vehicle: Version A is installed in the vehicle if:

1) A handset holder is installed

2) NO "beep" sounds when the Mode button is pressed while the ignition is switched on (Mondeo 2001)

3) NO Voice button is installed (Focus 2004.75, Focus C-MAX)

4) NOTE: In vehicles with hands-free phone kits, the Mode button is also used to accept calls.

Version B features a module with Bluetooth and voice control without a handset holder. The module is equipped with a digital signal processor, echo cancellation and noise suppression. The hands-free microphone, Bluetooth voice control module, the speakers and the steering wheel audio control are connected to the audio unit. Up to six cellular phones can be set up.

Identification of the version installed in the vehicle: Version B is installed in the vehicle if:

1) NO handset holder is installed

2) A "beep" sounds when the Mode button is pressed while the ignition is switched on (Mondeo 2001)

3) A Voice button is installed (Focus 2004.75, Focus C-MAX) 4) NOTE: In vehicles with a hands-free phone kit, the Mode button is only intended for accepting calls/voice control and is no longer available for the selection of preset buttons in the audio unit.

Version C

In addition to the version B features, version C includes a handset holder with charging function and a connection to the vehicle exterior antenna for the cellular phone. The module is equipped with a digital signal processor, echo cancellation and noise suppression. Up to six cellular phones can be set up (one in the handset holder, five via Bluetooth).

Identification of the version installed in the vehicle: Version C is installed in the vehicle if:

1) A handset holder is installed

2) A "beep" sounds when the Mode button is pressed while the ignition is switched on (Mondeo 2001)

3) A Voice button is installed (Focus 2004.75, Focus C-MAX)
